Your First Fertility Appointment at Positive Steps Fertility
What to Expect and How to Prepare for Your First Visit
Welcome to Positive Steps Fertility. Dr. Preston Parry and our team understand that seeking fertility care is a meaningful and often emotional step. Our goal is to make your experience clear, supportive, and focused on giving you answers and a personalized path forward.
From your first visit, you can expect straightforward communication, compassionate care, and a thorough approach to understanding your fertility history and goals. We are here to help you move forward with confidence.
Before Your First Appointment
Prior to your visit, a licensed nurse may complete a phone consultation with you to gather important medical history, review prior fertility attempts, and learn more about your goals and any questions you may have. This helps us make the most of your first in-person appointment.
You can also complete new patient paperwork ahead of time to streamline your visit.
What Happens at Your First Visit
When you arrive, our team will welcome you and help you get checked in. During your fertility consultation, we will review your medical, reproductive, and family history in detail and discuss any prior evaluations or treatments you may have had.
We may also review lifestyle factors and prior testing to better understand your fertility health. This allows us to identify possible causes and recommend the most appropriate next steps.
After reviewing your history, we will outline a clear plan for further evaluation or treatment. You will leave your first appointment with a defined next step and a better understanding of your fertility journey and options.
What to Bring to Your First Appointment
Please bring your insurance and identification cards, a list of all current medications (including vitamins and supplements), and any relevant medical records or prior fertility testing.
Helpful records may include prior fertility evaluations, HSG images, Pap smear results, thyroid testing, PCOS or miscarriage workups, and any operative reports. If you have not completed some of these tests, you can still attend your appointment.
We also encourage you to write down any questions you would like to discuss so we can address them during your visit.
Fertility Insurance and Financial Information
Fertility insurance coverage varies widely and is often limited. Because of this, Positive Steps Fertility operates differently from traditional insurance-based practices. Instead, we focus on providing transparent pricing and helping patients utilize any available out-of-network benefits when possible.
Our team is available to help you understand your coverage and submit claims if applicable.
We also offer financing options and can connect you with low-interest programs designed to make fertility care more accessible.
